A Bit About Me

My name is Joyce and I’m originally from Baja California, MX. Growing up in the US-MX border meant crossing over to another country for lunch and switching languages in the same sentence.

When I moved to sunny Los Angeles I met people from all over the world, tasted an array of culinary indulgences, and heard many different languages. I became truly familiar with this multicultural city, yet I desired exposure to cultures in their native countries.

My digital nomad journey began in Spain, which proved a challenge despite being a fluent Spanish speaker. Like any life-changing challenge, it required limitless passion and relentless persistence. My journey had constant obstacles, still I kept in mind that the only constant thing in life is change.

I created bpresent.blog with the purpose of helping people find inspiration and keep on exploring despite the challenges. Although some of my travels were solo, I met many wonderful people along the way. They encouraged me to share my recommendations with the hope of empowering travelers, especially other solo female travelers to take practice my biggest lesson… ALWAYS BE PRESENT.
